Synology Surveillance Station License Serial Added
Synology Surveillance Station License Serial added
Synology Surveillance Station is a powerful video management system that allows you to monitor and record video from multiple IP cameras on your Synology NAS. With Surveillance Station, you can easily manage your security system, set up recording schedules, configure motion detection, and access live view and playback from anywhere. But how do you add more cameras to your Surveillance Station? In this article, we will show you how to add surveillance device licenses to your Synology NAS and what to do if you encounter any issues.
What are surveillance device licenses?
Surveillance device licenses are required to connect IP cameras or other devices to your Surveillance Station. Each Synology NAS comes with a certain number of pre-installed licenses, which vary depending on the model. You can check the maximum number of supported devices on the product specifications of your Synology NAS. If you need to add more devices, you can purchase additional license packs from Synology or authorized resellers. Each license pack contains one or more license keys, which can be applied to one Synology NAS at a time.

How to add surveillance device licenses?
Adding surveillance device licenses is easy and can be done in a few steps. First, make sure your Synology NAS can access the Internet. Then, follow these steps:
Go to Surveillance Station > License.
Click Add.
Confirm the information in the window, tick the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions, and click Next.
If you are adding licenses from the CMS host server, select a server and click Next.
Enter or paste the license keys you have purchased. Click + or - to add or delete license keys, and click Add.
A summary of the license status will appear. If the licenses you entered have already been activated on other devices, you can migrate them over to this device with an authenticated Synology Account. (See this article for detailed steps.)
Note: By activating license keys on Surveillance Station, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
A license key can only be applied to one Synology device at once.
License keys cannot be distributed or provided to any third party.
License keys (in either paper or electronic form) must be kept secure. If the keys are lost, Synology will not provide any replacements or lookup services.
The proof of purchase (e.g., invoices or receipts) of license keys must be kept secure. If the purchase was made online, please take a legible screenshot of the e-receipt and save it carefully.
License keys and the information of your Synology devices, including serial numbers and model names, will be sent back to Synology for validation. We will not collect other personal data during validation.
How to delete surveillance device licenses?
If you no longer need some of the licenses on your Surveillance Station, you can delete them and use them on another Synology NAS. To delete licenses, follow these steps:
Select the licenses you wish to delete, and click Delete.
If you cannot connect to Synology Inc. for license verification during the deleting process, we may not be able to protect your rights and correctly transfer your licenses to another Synology device. In this case, please follow the steps in the offline deletion sections below to delete licenses.
Note: Default licenses cannot be deleted or migrated.
